Singaraja- The Faculty of Sport and Health, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha), held an International Conference on Physical Education, Sport, and Health (ICOPESH) on September 8 and 9, 2022. This online conference is a space for sharing ideas and solutions to problems in sports and the challenges faced.
Six competent speakers, both from within and outside the country, were presented. The material topics are related to sports education during a pandemic, related to physiology, health, and so on. This topic follows the theme “Enhancing Sports Performance and Health Through Technology Integration, Educational Innovation, and Sports Tourism”.
The Committee head, I Gede Suwiwa, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained that this conference was the second time organized by the Faculty of Sport and Health Undiksha. This conference is a space for sharing ideas and solutions to various current problems in sports, physical education, and health through the research results and thoughts of researchers, lecturers, teachers, and practitioners. “This theme is closely related to the development of sports science, physical education, and health, especially in analyzing various current issues along with concrete solutions that are critically initiated,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Sports and Health, Dr. I Ketut Yoda, said the field of sports is one of the supporters of national development. Through this, superior human resources can be realized. Therefore, as an educational vehicle, the Faculty of Sports and Health Undiksha moves to pay attention, one of which is organizing this conference. “This is a space to exchange information that can improve sports teaching skills, how we can prepare technology-based sports learning, and so on,” he said, representing the Dean of Faculty of Sports and Health, I Ketut Budaya Astra, M.Or.
The conference was opened by Undiksha’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He, who represented the Rector, appreciated implementing this activity with hundreds of participants. On this occasion, he said that sports and physical activity are public health platforms. However, economic and technological developments have changed lifestyles, including decreased interest in exercise and physical activity. This is one of the challenges faced in the field of sports. Through this conference, he hopes that ideas, thoughts, and solutions will be born to integrate sports with technology, including learning. “Hopefully this conference can be a useful forum for sharing ideas, discussions, and innovations that we can promote in the fields of education, sports, and health,” he hoped.
