Singaraja– Ganesha University of Education celebrates its 27th Anniversary. The opening took place on January 8 and peaked on January 16, 2020. Through this momentum, the academic community was invited to work together in harmony to make Undiksha even more superior.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., in his remarks, said that in the midst of the relatively young age of higher education, many fundamental changes have occurred. Starting from an academic full of achievements to a comfortable and harmonious environment. This progress cannot be separated from the support of the entire academic community. “This is thanks to the sacrifice of all the academic community,” he explained.
Undiksha has carried the vision of becoming a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. Therefore, according to him, efforts to improve quality must continue. In his position as rector for the 2019-2023 period, it is hoped that Undiksha can move faster and be able to excel. It is believed, with hard work and togetherness that has been built, these ideals can be realized. “Hopefully the theme of this year’s anniversary is “Synergy in Harmony”, which can be a trigger and motivation for all of us to work together in harmony to build this university in the future,” he said.
He emphasized that changes also needed to be made to answer all the demands and challenges in this era of technological disruption (Era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0). As an academic institution, the emergence of achievements, at both national and international levels, continues to be encouraged. This is balanced with increasingly optimal coaching. “Undiksha must also be able to produce graduates with character and competence in their fields. I also emphasize this to the ranks, “said Jampel.
The former Dean of the Undiksha Faculty of Education said that in building the university, there are a number of things that become references, namely the 9 criteria for BAN-PT, Higher Education Clusterization, and the Chancellor’s Performance Contract with the Minister. These three things should be included in the Undiksha Long Term Plan and Strategic/Business Plan. “This should not be overlooked,” he said.
The largest state university in North Bali already has accreditation status A. The same has been achieved by nine study programs, namely: Physical, Health and Recreation Education Study Program, Mathematics Education Study Program, Geography Education Study Program, Civic Education Study Program, Study Program History Education, PGSD Study Program, TP Study Program, D3 Accounting Study Program, and PEP Masters Study Program. Other study programs are urged to follow soon. “I also wish to prepare study programs that have been accredited Superior to obtain international accreditation,” he continued.
More specifically, the Chancellor of Jampel discussed the target for 2020. It is hoped that there will be more international activities to provide international experience to the entire Undiksha academic community, both through student exchange and faculty exchange programs. One of its flagship programs is the Fast Track Program (Double Degree Program) in collaboration with Ming Chi University of Technology. “I will send some of Undiksha’s best students to MCUT starting in September 2020. I hope that through this activity I can improve Undiksha’s image branding as an academic institution,” he added. (hms)
