Mangupura- Strengthening the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, strengthening cooperation, and increasing clustering is a program that will continue to be strengthened by the University of Education Ganesha (Undiksha) in 2022. This was revealed from the presentation of the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Cooperation of Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I in a coordination and program development meeting, Friday (4/12/2020).
Higher Education Tri Dharma consists of Education and Teaching, Research, and Community Service. Rasben Dantes explained that these three areas continue to be strengthened because they are also included as Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU). In the field of education and teaching, the program designed is in the form of international class initiation, a program strengthening fast track program which in 2020 has collaborated with Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan, as well as pushing up the international credit transfer program which is supported by maximizing existing collaborations with universities abroad and establishing collaborations with other universities. “For now there is already a credit transfer program with universities outside. It continues to be developed every year,” he said.
Not only that, in the midst of the presence of the new normal as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Undiksha has also improved the quality of the implementation of school field introduction programs, field lecture programs, and real work lectures. No less important is the implementation of learning in the network. Attention is also paid to the implementation of the Free Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) policy which was rolled out by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Undiksha is committed to contributing to its success. The steps taken are to strengthen the synergy between study programs at Undiksha in collaboration with other tertiary institutions related to student lectures for three semesters outside the study program. Programs that lead to MBKM have been implemented at Undiksha, namely the Center of Excellence (CoE) and the Permata Sakti program. “These are programs related to education and teaching for students,” explained Rasben Dantes. Apart from students, lecturers are also encouraged to be more active in participating in education and teaching programs at other tertiary institutions. This can also be accompanied by collaborative publications and research.
In the field of research and community service, it is desirable that there be an increase in the Undiksha research cluster, an increase in the number of innovative products, and industrial prototypes, an increase in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and so on, an increase in the number of publications in reputable international journals, as well as strengthening of journals and preparation of globally indexed journals. To realize this, it is hoped that there will be continued support from the faculty, lecturers, and students.
Meanwhile, for clustering, it cannot be separated from the main tertiary performance indicators. Since the beginning, it has been emphasized that it has always received serious attention. Currently, Undiksha is in cluster II at the national level. The declaration of these programs is none other than to answer the chancellor’s target to make Undiksha an internationally Reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL) as well as accelerate the realization of Undiksha’s vision of “Becoming an Excellent University Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Asia in 2045”.(hms)
