Denpasar- Vice Chancellor III of the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha), Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., gave a presentation at the 2021 Development Coordination Meeting (Rakorbang), Tuesday (3/12/2019). One of the academics from Klungkung is paying serious attention to improving student achievement which is very important to support institutional clustering, both at the national and international levels.
The achievements made by Undiksha students tend to increase every year. This is not only in non-academic fields but also in academics. The scale is not only at the regional level but also at the national and international levels. “We want to improve our achievements in supporting clustering, especially on an international scale. This year there have been several. The last one was achieved by students of the Faculty of Medicine at the event in Singapore,” he said.
Realizing this target, not only is it sufficiently supported by student enthusiasm, but there must also be a tit-for-tat movement from the lecturer who acts as a supervisor. It seems that the Student Creativity Program (PKM) is one of the prestigious events at the national level. “This guidance needs to be intensified again. Because some students find it difficult to find supervisors, “he said.
The implementation of activities by student organizations is also a concern. All of them are expected to support institutional clustering. Not just as an organizer, but does not have any impact. “The implementation of the competition is also scrutinized. We encourage the activities that are made to benefit the institution,” he said.
As a tertiary institution, Undiksha does not only have the responsibility to produce graduates who are able to compete in the world of work. But it is also capable of producing entrepreneurs. Neither now nor in 2021, it has gone unnoticed. Through UPT Career Development and Entrepreneurship (PKKM), coaching is increasingly intensified. “The student apprenticeship program at BUMN also needs to be improved. This provides experience for students,” said the former Director of the Undiksha Postgraduate Program. (hms)
