Singaraja- The work meeting held by the Ganesha Education University (Undiksha) at Plataran Menjangan Resort & Spa, West Bali National Park (TNBB) on 23 and 24 March 2019 not only discussed the preparation of planning documents and the 2020 budget. However, this annual event was also to echo the Tri Hita Karana concept through tree planting.
Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd explained that Tri Hita Karana has become the basis of the university’s vision to become superior in Asia by 2045. This concept has been well implemented in the campus environment by the entire academic community. Not only the environment but also the relationships between humans and God. “The atmosphere at Undiksha is very conducive. “This is part of the implementation of the Tri Hita Karana concept,” he explained.
The planting of various types of trees was also attended by faculty and institutional leaders. This is an effort to preserve forests that support life. It is hoped that such steps will take place in a sustainable manner. “We hope this can be done sustainably,” he said.
Specifically for planning for 2020, the university which already has a Faculty of Medicine is continuing to boost study program accreditation, with a target of 25 percent A and 75 percent B, as well as preparing superior study programs for international accreditation. “A study program with B accreditation must continue to improve itself according to the criteria as a reference for BAN-PT to become a superior study program. “Meanwhile, study programs that have been accredited A are being prepared for international accreditation (AUN-QA),” said Jampel.
Institutional governance and Good University Governance cannot be separated from attention. This is realized through the implementation of bureaucratic reform and integrity zones to make Undiksha a corruption-free area and a clean and serving bureaucratic area. No less important is improving the quality of human resources to produce quality graduates. “We continue to motivate lecturers to improve their academic qualifications from Master’s to Doctoral, increase their academic position from associate professor to professor, and plan academic activities such as sabbatical leave, industrial attachment, faculty exchange, and so on,” he explained.
Publication of lecturers’ scientific work in reputable international journals, accredited national journals, indexed international conferences, or even at national seminars continues to be encouraged. This has been planned since 2017 and the results have been positive. As an institution that is required to produce reliable human resources, anticipating the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is also included in policy in 2020. In form, providing graduates with multi-competencies, one of which is English, gives students more space and time to develop their soft skills. “We continue to make breakthroughs to improve the quality of human resources. “There is through the application of Blended Learning and Flip Classroom,” he said.
