Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-Being

Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages by providing access to healthcare services, reducing maternal and child mortality, and combating communicable diseases. This becomes especially critical in safeguarding vulnerable population groups and individuals residing in regions burdened by high disease prevalence. By doing so, we can strengthen health systems and foster resilience in the face of health adversities. Immunization is one of the world’s most successful and cost-effective health interventions. However, the alarming decline in childhood vaccination – the largest sustained decline in childhood vaccinations in approximately 30 years – is leaving millions of children at risk from devastating but preventable diseases. You can start by promoting and protecting your own health and the health of those around you, by making well-informed choices, practicing safe sex and vaccinating your children. You can raise awareness in your community about the importance of good health, healthy lifestyles as well as people’s right to quality health care services, especially for the most vulnerable such as women and children. You can also hold your government, local leaders and other decision-makers accountable to their commitments to improve people access to health and health care.

Collaborations and Health Services

Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) actively collaborates with health institutions at local, regional, and national levels to enhance education, research, and community outreach in alignment with health and well-being goals of the SDGs. Locally, Undiksha partners with regional health agencies to support community health initiatives, focusing on critical issues such as maternal health, preventive care, and public health education.

Regionally, partnerships with institutions like Rumah Sakit Umum Singaraja, Rumah Sakit Umum Kertha Usada and Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD) Mangusada Kabupaten Badung provide hands-on training for students, opportunities for impactful mental health research, and community programs aimed at increasing awareness and reducing stigma around mental health.

Nationally, collaborations with organizations such as Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS) Kesehatan enable Undiksha to contribute research, expertise, and outreach projects related to nutrition, health insurance literacy, and broader healthcare system improvements.

Undiksha also organizes public workshops and health campaigns in collaboration with these institutions, focusing on preventive healthcare, nutrition, and disease management. These efforts empower communities and enrich student learning experiences, contributing directly to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being).
